Personal reflection

This project changed how I see conservation. I used to think it was mostly about protecting endangered species, but now I see it’s also about managing development.
What stood out most is that conservation is often reactive—focused on reducing harm after decisions are made instead of preventing it.
A challenge was finding balanced information. I worked around this by applying key concepts like habitat fragmentation and biodiversity loss instead of relying on biased sources.
This project showed me that conservation isn’t separate from human activity but about balancing environmental health with real-world needs.
Takeaway: Small local decisions, like this development, can have long-term environmental impacts, so conservation needs to be built into planning from the start
